FOR RELEASE: January 5, 2010
CONTACT: Patricia Dempsey, 410-626-2539
St. John’s College is offering new weekend programs through its Continuing Education and Fine Arts Program. The community is welcome to these intensive discussions of classic works, which include “The Book of Job,” the poetry of William Butler Yeats, short stories of Flannery O’Connor, and Milton’s “Paradise Lost.” Participants can also immerse themselves in a two-day weekend arts workshop on “The Guilded Page: Techniques of the Old Masters” or “The Painted Sketch.” Spring classes begin February 13 and the registration deadline is two weeks before the start of each class. Tuition for weekend seminars and workshops ranges from $135 to $165.
The weekend seminars meet three times over the course of one weekend: from 10 a.m. to noon and from 2 to 4 p.m. on Saturday, and from 10 a.m. to noon on Sunday, followed by brunch. The weekend art workshop meets from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on both Saturday and Sunday, and includes lunch each day.
