Undergraduate Admissions

Letter from the Directors

Welcome! We’re pleased you’re thinking of applying to St. John’s. The college admissions process is all about exploring a vast array of colleges and universities and deciding which among them might best suit your educational goals. Is St. John’s the right choice for you? We hope these pages will help you answer that question, and we encourage you to explore St. John’s College, our multidisciplinary academic program and the vibrant student life at the college by taking our virtual tour. We also hope you will be able to visit either or both our Annapolis and Santa Fe campuses and meet with our admissions staff, who will be happy to answer your questions and assist with your application to St. John’s.

We’re committed to making our distinctive educational program available to students from families of all income levels. We admit students on the basis of academic promise and achievement and then work with families to make St. John’s affordable. Well over half our students receive substantial financial aid packages from the college, in addition to grants, loans, and jobs through the federal programs. If college costs are a concern for you, our financial aid offices are ready and willing to help your family develop a plan for managing them.

Our students come from nearly all 50 states and several countries around the world. Our application for admission for both domestic and international students is available on line through The Common Application or may be downloaded in paper format from this web site. Either version is acceptable to us and will be given equal consideration; we charge no application fee.

We hope you do decide that St. John’s is right for you, and we look forward to receiving and reading your application.
