Fresh air and expansive views make Santa Fe an incredibly appealing place to pursue the Program at St. John’s. The campus borders on the national forest and it isn’t unusual to find nearby trails dotted with Johnnies, reading in patches of sun in winter or pools of shade in summer. Our sunsets are sublime and people find the sight of them from campus especially inspiring. The center of campus, called the Weigle Placita, features a fishpond, waterfall, and numerous benches. It’s a welcoming terrace where students and tutors gather at all times of the day.
The office of Graduate Admissions will facilitate your tour of our beautiful campus. Our facilities include Levan Hall, home to the Graduate Institute, Meem Library, and the Student Activities Center. Levan Hall, the newest addition to campus, is a LEED Gold Certified building that houses the William Darkey Common Room, three seminar rooms, staff and tutor offices, and a gallery space. Large windows offer sweeping views of the surrounding Santa Fe scenery. Our graduate common room is named after William Darkey, a founding faculty member and former dean of St. John’s College in Santa Fe. Graduate students have exclusive use of this spacious, comfortable study room that offers many convenient amenities.
